Because of this, these humans called Volsins can control, and project light red, green, blue, gold. They can manipulate light into flying discs, lighting bolts, arrows, and etc. The different fractions of Volsins are Red Diamonds, Emerald Dens, Golden Hives, a Adela Arthur is enticing heroine, who is still trying to find herself before she is whisked off into the world Cielieu.
There were plenty of interesting side characters, but I found Jeremy, Hector, and Adela's Grandpapa, to be more desirable, likable characters. OK, so Jeremy is a jerk at times, but I can see the good in him. There were plenty plot twists that I did not see coming which made this novel suspenseful at times. I love the dragons, mermaids, other creatures and the cool Natorbi "game" ok it is not a game but a lifestyle hehe a certain character in this book kept saying that :D I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fanasty genre. I really enjoyed this book, and I absolutely love this cover.
Fantwesome debut novel, Judyann!!! Jun 07, Sethandten rated it it was amazing. When this book came in the mail for me to review I wasn't sure if I should. My first thought was not another blah blah and the blah blah It worked for Harry Potter and it worked for Percy Jackson. But I just thought the it would be more of the same. Plus this coming from an Author I had never heard didn't help. However the summary did get my attention and so I'd give it a try. First I truly enjoyed the character names.
It's something you dont think of but there are some books where I think I When this book came in the mail for me to review I wasn't sure if I should. It's something you dont think of but there are some books where I think I can't stand the names. Second I was honestly surprised. No really I found myself getting all worked up over it. Adela Arthur made me laugh and made me angry in a good way. Third I thought it was short. However after reading Game of Thrones anything under pages to me is to short now.
As a debut I enjoyed it and think anyone over the age of 13 should grab a copy. Jun 16, Teresa rated it it was amazing. I have to say that I loved this book.

It is a great story for a parent to read with their child. You fall into a magical world along with Adela and Hector and from that point the adventure begins. You want to root for Adela, and you want her to win. She is a strong role model, especially for young girls. This book will not disappoint you.
Sep 07, Sophia marked it as feed-it-to-the-sharks. Read Steph Sinclair's review. Sums it up beautifully. Originality, where are you, originality? I miss you! Jun 26, Erika marked it as did-not-finish Shelves: arc , review-copy , releases , ebook.
There's so much drama surrounding this book and it's just not worth continuing. Sep 24, Catherine marked it as don-t-do-it Shelves: bad-reviews-from-friends.

Jul 07, Sharon rated it did not like it. This book is a poorly written Harry Potter knockoff. Jul 10, Elien rated it really liked it Shelves: , ya-books. The first pages were somewhat less, because the real story still had to begin. But once Adela and Hector entered Cielieu everything became magical literally and figuratively.
Most of the book took place in the school Elpida Castle of Light and I just love boarding schools. Cielieu too seemed like a very nice place, so I hope to see more of it during the next book. So much did happen in this one book, new friendships were formed, friends were betrayed, loved ones were lost and Adela and her friends went on adventure.
Adela, Hector and their friends were also easy to love. Adela was a sweet girl that stood up for herself and for her friend. Hector was the book geek who loved to learn new stuff. Jeremy was a bit snobbish at first, but he cares about the ones he loves.

And last but not least headmaster Lord Elderberry, he seemed like a really nice guy. View 2 comments. Aug 26, Ayanami Faerudo rated it did not like it Shelves: books-read-in I once signed up for a blog tour for this book. However, the host called it off because of reasons. I didn't know the answer why and I was curious. So I snooped around and found out that this was just a "rip-off of Harry Potter". That put the lid on my curiosity, at that time; nothing and no one should get off from Harry Potter. But I was on Smashwords this weekend, I was browsing, I saw this and- I guess my curiosity or my need to know everything got the better of me and I downloaded it.
Hey, I once signed up for a blog tour for this book. Hey, you could set the price. It did the trick. I was not as angry as I would've been if I went it blind, not knowing. At least this once I was thankful for all the reviews.
Treating it as a fanfiction aside, I couldn't give it a good rating- even for a fanfiction. The author was creative I could tell you in renaming names but no matter how you change the colors and the nature of the division, they're still Houses reminiscent of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. I'm sorry but I've read a lot of HP fanfiction and many were written more beautifully than this one. Aug 02, Niki rated it really liked it. In all honestly it was close to the Potter Books, it had so much the same in it.
But with that been said.
